Trail Description Absolutely beautiful! Old logging roads will take you to the most scenic areas...with bluffs, rock formations, caves, streams, waterfalls, etc. Hundreds of miles of trails connecting into trails on the Tennessee side as well. Direct Trail Access from the Cabin.
Best Time to Visit All seasons are great for riding and scenery is awesome!
Times to Avoid
Campground Ride in the mountains and gorges of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Spectacular scenery - natural rock formations, arches, and caves. Ride deep into the gorge and along the river, vegetation and wildlife is remarkable. Wide, well groomed trails - former logging roads from the past. The park service does an excellent job of keeping them well maintained. Cross rivers and creeks, through the woods, scenic overlooks...amazing! Ride to the Blue Heron Mine - an abandoned mining town where you can tie up and enjoy the picnic areas. Buy your picnic or ice cream at the concession stand or pack your own. Trails vary in terrain and difficulty, but all are wide and well maintained. This area is the best kept secret around!!
