Trail Description Pine Valley Wilderness area - some flat trails w/ creek crossings. Many trails that take you to the summit of the mountain. The Summit trail takes you along the top of this long mountain. Elevation approximately 6,500 ft to 9,000 ft. Town of Pine Valley has lodge, restaurant, general store. Trails are challenging and some are not for beginners. Only wilderness area in southern Utah.

Directions http://www.fs.fed.us/dxnf/campground/equestrian.html - to information and to reserve a site. From St. George, UT, take Rt. 18 north to Central. Turn right (east) towards Pine Valley Mountain. Turn left on Main Street in Pine Valley. Continue to the Forest Service Campground Host kiosk.

(Gently sloping or level terrain; trails are groomed or wide open; shallow or no creek crossings. ) 
 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
