Great place to go trail riding or driving. I am a trail driver, there are miles and miles of trails that are wide enough for a pick up truck so most any buggy or cart and horse can go down them. Mostly level with some hills, but not any too much to handle in a buggy.
There are cabins for the humans to stay in and Bill and Cindy also have a barn with several stalls and run ins.
Price is great for what you get. Cabins are housekeeping and very cute, they also have free WIFI that is great. A boat also comes with the cabin for those who want to go fishing as well.
Barns are pole buildings. There is water and hose just outside the door of the barn. Although there are no lights in the barn, so wear a headlamp at night.
Bill took us out in his truck the first day to show us some of the trails. Cindy went out with us on another day and showed us other trails.
So many miles it is easy to get lost so be sure to have a map and compass. Bill has a map that he lent us. GPS signal sometimes got lost and there is no cell phone coverage.
If camping is more your style you can camp almost anywhere as this is Hiawatha National Forest. Just be sure to get your permit from the park ranger office.
We have our reservations for next year as they fill up very fast at the resort. Will be going back I am sure for several years as there are so many miles of trails there is sure to be places we haven't been to yet. |
