Trails were surprisingly muddy in places, compared to other places we'd just visited. There were a few dry areas. Many large ruts as well. All river crossings have a large river bank (covered with tons of rocks) before getting to the water, which is also a wide crossing and very rocky. There are several river/stream crossings throughout the course of the trail, but with so many rocks to cross at all the riverbanks, if your horse is tenderfooted, it would be best to avoid this trail entirely unless shod or wearing hoof boots. Not my favorite trail, at least on that day. We also found the trail markings to be confusing. As someone else said, there are some relatively steep banks down to the river that might be daunting to some if muddy. |
