I spent three days on the trails and had a wonderful time. The trails are easy to difficult so bring your Toughest/Surefooted horse. Shoes or Boots necessary! The views are absolutly the best. Memorial Weekend weather was at is's best with low 70's and low humidity. The accomodations at this camp are superb. If you forgot something at home or need anything Susan is right there to help. Paddocks are great for turnout! Top-Notch Facility!

Great trails (100 miles) in the Jefferson National Forrest. Minutes from horse camp. Horses have cover, water and nice paddock areas with shade. Susan is very helpful and will act as guide if she has time. She has a map of the trails for her guests. Electrical hookup and water. The deer, sunsets, whiperwills are an added attraction. I keep coming back. I enjoyed six months of camping at Walnut Cove in 2008 while buying Sadie from Susan. Linda

Since there are only 2 hookup's and a cabin it's really a great place to kick back and relax. The paddock areas are great for the horses so they're not in a stall. They can walk around and graze. The real plus is NOT STALLS TO CLEAN!!! Susan is a great camp hostess. There is about a 30 minute ride to Cripple Creek and Raven's Rock, about a 20 minute ride to the Va. Highlands Horse Trail.
