Campground was lovely, sites private, secure corrals for 2 horses. Water not turned on yet. Trails were abysmal. They were washed out ATV trails, extremely rocky or washed out. 12 mi. total, why so many horse sites with such limited trail mileage? Bushwhacking limited availability as cross fenced with barbed wire. TWH cover alot of ground and even traveling to another trail head, the riding was very steep with loose granite footing resulting in slipping. We could not trust that the horses could keep their footing, we turned around in less than a mile and went back to camp. Camp lovely, riding horrible. Certainly not worth the gas required to get there.

The campground was clean and quiet. The trails were well marked. The trail is a lolly-pop. The stick of the lolly-pop is rocky; however, it was very doable. The rest of the trail was well groomed and easy to move out on.

ATV,s are banned, but there is no enforcement. ATV riders have severely damaged trails and have run over critical dorection signs. It is easy for an experienced horseman to get on a never ending loop. Restrooms may be nice but they were locked for the entire weekend.

The main trail is pretty easily followed, however there is a fork in the trail where the sign had been downed by ATV's, but either way you go doesn't matter because it just loops back to the same place. The ATV's have also worn ruts in some parts of the trail and there are also some rocky areas that make footing less than wonderful. There are many offshoots from the main trail that are unmarked and maps are not always available at the trailhead. However, on the whole this is an enjoyable trail and it is on our Spring & Fall schedule each year.
