There is now horse camping available. The trails are very easy. I have seen deer and birds but little else. It is hot and humid during the summer but cool during the winter. There are better places to ride.

Not a bad place to ride although there aren't a lot of trails for distance riders.

Nice trails for a young horse or beginning trail rider. Very hot last weekend, with no water for the horses on the trail or at parking site. Little shade, best ridden in the Fall or Winter months. Lots of bugs and is very wet during the summer months. Nice easy ride.

flat trails that intersect with each other, lots of scrub oaks and palmetto...some shade from pines and oaks, total riding miles about 10 miles. No camping with horses, the trail head is a nice large open grassy area with a water. No stalls, no tie areas. Best to ride during the winter months, as spring and summer are very hot and humid

We rode the trail last August 02. This site describes the trail features well. There is no shade in some areas (about 40% is under heavy shade though), making summer time riding there not ideal (hot and muggy). While the trail is wide enough for two horses to canter side by side, it is very (I mean very) slippery in the morning (dew on stringy grass). Also there are big roots in some sections. Nonetheless, it is a great trail system for winter riding. It is wide and peaceful. Also there is ample space to park quite a few trailers (for groups), as well as for turning your rig. We are going back this coming winter. Please email if you need to know more.
