The T Bar S Ranch is a nicely designed campground located in the Davy Crockett NF. Campsites are spaced apart (not packed in / not close side by side of each other). Bathrooms were clean. We day rode so we didn't look at or use the showers. The campground was well maintained. Good sized horse pens. The trails we rode on were flat; either single file (dirt), 2-track (dirt w some gravel) or fire lanes (mostly gravel w dirt). We also did some road riding. Lots of really tall pine trees with no lower limbs blocking the view. Some areas had shrubs so you couldn't see very far but most of the trails had good visibility / no small trees or shrubs blocking the view. They do prescribed burns to keep the forest healthy so make sure the area you want to ride doesn't have a burn scheduled. There were many large (covered the width of the trail) muddy/boggy holes of water. We rode west and south of the campground; about 8 miles. Easy riding (unless your horse doesn't like mucky puddles). Shouldn't need shoes or boots unless your horse is tender-footed.
