There are several places to park and ride for the day around Benbrook Lake. Go to the U.S. Army Corp of Enginers for parking and trail closing information. All of the trails are beginner level.

There are now 3 trail areas open at Benbrooke Lake. Holiday, Mustang and Rocky Creek Parks. The Rocky Creek Park trails are their newest (opened Nov '07). Unfortunately, the trails are not made in a roundtrip fashion, so you ride to the end of the trail and you turn around and ride back out. The longer of the 2 new trails is LONG and towards miles 5, 6, 7 it gets very rocky, but Rocky Creek has some very nice trails. Easy parking (but not much of it) and if you've ridden trails before, you'll be fine here. The shorter Rocky Creek trail is only 3 miles, although you do go up and down some creek beds. We had young children (8-12 yo) with us and they did fine. There are campgrounds, but I've not used them.
