Had not ridden these trails this year, was shocked to see the former parking lot at the stables fenced off for pasture; no signs have been posted for day riders now to park at the Meadow's Drive facility. OHC has it posted that the pasture parking was too muddy for parking. Have been told a private entity now owns the stables; barn manager is not a people person; was absolutely no help in giving new information we found out from another rider on the trail (she was rude to him also; for letting his trailer tire get on her grass). Getting to the new parking area N on 21 to 82 turn right go about 1/4 mile and turn right onto Chippewa Creek Drive a couple of blocks to Meadows Drive turn right again the parking lot is on the left, the sign is small watch for the P. You are able to connect to the entire trail system from this location.

We rode some amazing trails but ended up where we were not permitted to be and were hassled by the park ranger who ran our names / license and was going to fine us. The trails are initially marked well but then once you get so far the markings kind of stop. The trail we were in trouble for riding did not say no horses only said no bikes / suv's. We did not know we were not permitted until we came upon a walking bridge which we crossed the creek not over the bridge and some steps. The staff at Brecksville Stables is amazing though! I dont have enough good things to say about them. Once we found our way into the state forest we did ok and had a nice time. We camped at their facility primitive and our horses were stalled. Only downfall is no fires permitted which is not their doing it is the parks. Overall it was a good time and somewhere new but I dont know if it will make it on our annual ride schedule.

this is a place we start our season of riding at nice rolling hills to get the horse in shape lots of parking at the stables and you can also park at the train station. you can ride to the ski areas or go the other way to the bedford reservation.

very senic ride, paths were gravel with large sharp stone. Horses need to have shoes and pads unless they have very hard feet. Nice bathrooms and easy to park a big trailer at the trail head.
