Sistercreek is a very nice place to ride. It's a bit small -- only 300 acres, but still fun. Some trails go way up on the hills and, after the climb, you can see all around the hill country. The trails are rocky and gravelly -- boots or shoes are needed. While some horses could probably go barefoot, I really wouldn't recommend it. A map is provided with descriptions of difficulty. Riding down in the river is the highlight of everyone's ride. The river is in the opposite direction from the trails. You can ride into the river right up to the dam. In a couple of places you do have to open gates to get in and out. There are cabins there to rent and there is even a "saloon" for rented parties.

We had the most wonderful time at this amazing place, the trails were great, the camp site was perfect with stalls for the horses, the food was terrific, the warmth and hospitality of the hosts was above and beyond. Can't wait to go back and stay longer!
