Because LB, Kentucky is known as the horse capitol of the World, but I think that needs to be re-done to Tenn. they have got Ky beat hands down on trails, campgrounds, and catering to horse's.........just my opinion

White Sulpur camp has improved. The horse water is now from a spigot.( still from the pond) The toilet is clean. The grass is now being mowed. new post have been placed to picket the horses and the garbage has been picked up. So the primitive camp ground has improved. the trails well.......trees are down and of course we must go around them. The forest service needs to keep the trees cleared from the paths. Why is it that Tenn trails are well maintained and Kentucky cannot keep the trails in the National forest better maintained.

The White Sulfer camp is primitive with no clean water for people or horses.I will not let my horse drink from a community tank. No shade at all for the sites. Tie stalls are falling down. The trails were covered in fallen trees and were dangerous to ride around and over. They are not marked well. I think 12.00 per night is too high for a toilet.

We have been going to Rudy's for about 5 years and have always had a great time.Love the riding, the rougher the better .But since Rudy left things have changed. The stalls were very neglected, along with other things!!! I hate this --- but we just made our last trip until it gets back to the way it was.

I just got back from spending 3 days at the Cave Run Resort and stables. What a wonderful place, Jonus is still working on the resort, but I still loved it. The camping was great had electric and water and I loved the stalls. As soon as we drove up the the resort I fell in love with the place, it is so quiet and I met some really nice horse people there. The trail to the cave run trail system was excellent. I plan to go back soon. Wish Jonus the best of luck and that he will soon have everything he wants to do with the resort done.

THERE ARE MORE THAN 60 MILES OF TRAIL IN THE CAVE RUN AREA. YOU JUST GOTTA KNOW HOW TO TIE THEM TOGETHER. NOW OF COURSE, SOME OF THEM MAY NOT BE MARKED. ONE COULD RIDE 5-6 DAYS AND NOT HAVE TO LOOP THE SAME WAY, OF COURSE A LITTLE BACKTRACKING IN PLACES.

RIDING FROM CLEAR CREEK LAKE TO RUDY'S MAKING A 6 HOUR LOOP IS A FAIRLY NICE RIDE. VARIETY, OLD GOV ROAD AND TRAIL, SOME RUGGED. VERY LITTLE BACKTRACKING, JUST UP THE SWITCHBACK HILL FROM CLEAR CREEK.

WHITE SULPHUR IS JUST A PARKING AREA. NO FACILITIES, JUST A PORT A POTTY. YOU CAN CAMP THERE, BUT TOTALLY PRIMITIVE. IT'S CLOSE TO THE CLEAR CREEK MARKET, WHICH HAS A GOOD RESTURANT. THE FOREST DEPT. HAD NO CLUE WHAT THEY WERE DOING, 20 YRS AGO. THERE IS LITTLE SHADE, NO FRESH WATER, NOT VERY GOOD TIE STALLS FOR HORSES, OR PLACE TO PICKET. HOWEVER, RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT 1 MILE IS A NEW PLACE, JUST OPENED. CAVE RUN RESORT AND STABLE. IT'S NICE. NUMEROUS SHADED CAMPSITES WITH ELECTRIC AND WATER. A LARGE BARN WITH NICE BIG STALLS, A BATHOUSE, AND COUNTRY STORE. IT'S QUIET, PEACEFUL AND ONLY A FIFTEEN MINUTE RIDE GIVES ACCESS TO ALL THE TRAILS IN THE WHITE SULPHUR AREA. I FEEL ONCE THIS PLACE CATCHES ON, WHITE SULPHUR WILL BE A GHOST CAMP AND RUDY'S WILL BE FOR THE PARTY PEOPLE. THERE IS LOTS OF GOOD RIDING IN THE CAVE RUN AREA. I'M NOT SURE HOW MANY PEOPLE KNOW OF IT, BECAUSE THEY RIDE OUT OF WHITE SULPHUR OR RUDY'S AND DON'T ACCESS TRAILS FROM OTHER AREAS, WHICH HAVE NO TRAIL HEADS OR CAMPING FACILITIES. CHECK OUT CAVE RUN RESORT AND STABLES. IT'S JUST BELOW ENTRANCE TO WHITE SULPHUR ON RT. 211.

The trails are being worked on. Some really need to be wider, cause meeting another group of horse can be a difficult experience. The white sulpur horse camp sucked. Grass was not mowed. The tables needed to be replaced. Tie outs for the horse are dirty. I do like the number of trails you can ride from the camp. There is water for the horses. The bathrooms are cleaned and maintained.

We visited the cave run lake horse camp 6/29/2006. I found the camp site it's self very much neglected. The horse tie stalls were mostly falling apart and grown up in weeks and grass. The camp site were grown up in weeds and grass with beer can and other trash scattered around. The few picnic tables were mostly broken. A very disappointing trip.
