This trail is close to the Ogden area and I ride it a lot in the evenings to get away because it close. Middle Fork is state owned property and is managed as a winter wildlife area. It is closed from November to April 15th. Usually there is a large crowd of Shed Hunters there on April 15th searching for Elk sheds in the canyon. It has easy access, a large parking area. You proceed through the gate and choose one of several trails. The main two track road follows the under the power lines. The second trail skirts along the river. It crosses several times and during spring floods can be challenging. Several miles up the canyon the two trails cross each other at whats is often called the "Bus Stop" There is a small shelter at this spot. The two track continues up into Browns Hole. the single track crosses to the north side of the river and goes up to the head of the river. Another mile or so past the Bus Stop their is side trail that heads off to the left and climbs up a draw and over the top. It comes down Geersten Canyon. At the mouth of Geersten canyon you cut back to the left and follow along the front of the foots hills back to the parking lot. This loop is called Libby's Loop and is about 13 miles long. it usually takes me about 4 hours to ride.
