Trails are mostly sandy and flat. In regards to campground don't be surprised if you have issues with the electric; breaker kicks out continually as other mention and is a known issue.I wasn't impressed so many othergreat places in WI to stay and ride.

We have been horse camping for over 25 years and hands down .we prefer the marked trails, variety, layout, quantity, the sandy terrine and well groomed condition of the horse trails at Ukarydee over all other camp grounds we have visited. The owners hospitality, campground amenities and cleanliness makes our visits very enjoyable and relaxing. Unlike most other horse campgrounds...the trail systems footing is mostly sand as opposed to rocks making it comfortable for our barefoot horses. The porta potties are immaculate and odor free and there is an indoor clean modern tile shower and toilet for your comfort. Electric at each site and round pens instead of spring lines provide safety and comfort for your horses and allow us to visit area restaurants, golf courses and beaches without worrying about our animals safety while unattended. Mike and Mary are very generous with their wood allotments, have ice available, jewelry and t & sweat shirts at the camp office for purchase in addition to very detailed accurate color trail maps for your convenience. We have referred Ukarydee to several of our friends who are now also regular visitors. Mary and Mike are not only very professional honest business owners, but have also become our extended Wisconsin family. We highly recommend this camping facility and know all your memories will be wonderful as are ours.

we got to the campgrounds on Friday and the out houses STUNK already and got worse as the weekend went on. The campgrounds were almost full and not once were they cleaned or emptied. If it wasn't for the great trails I wouldn't go back. I'll be using a pail in the back of my horse trailer next time, has to be better than the out houses. Also people camping with our group had electrical problems on off all weekend.

Other trail riders should know what happened at Ukarydee this past Memorial Day weekend. We saw two women head out of camp on their horses early Friday afternoon. Shortly after leaving, one of the women came galloping back in obvious distress! She told the older lady in charge of registration, that her friend had fallen off her horse, and was hurt bad! She said she'd already called 911! She said that a ambulance was on the way and told the lady doing the registering, that she had to keep the driveway cleared, so the ambulance and a fire truck, rescue team could get through, because EMT's had to be able to get back to where her friend was laying on the ground. We could not believe it when the older lady doing the registering said "My job is to register people as they came into this campground, so I can't do that!" The woman making the request for help, couldn't believe it either and she started yelling at the people lined up to register, asking them to "PLEASE MOVE OUT OF THE DRIVE WAY! AN AMBULANCE IS COMING AND THEY NEED TO GET THROUGH!!" Right away people fired up their trucks and pulled their trailers out of the way. Again she told the woman registering that she'd have to keep the driveway cleared! Then she ask if any one would follow her back to her injured friend, stay beside her, and not let her move, while she rode back to the registration area, to wait for the ambulance and lead it to back to her freind. Some one volunteered to go with her and stay with her friend. Shortly after they left, the woman came galloping back to camp again, and found more trucks blocking the driveway at the registration area. At this point every one could hear the ambulance's siren howling! Once again the woman on the horse screamed for every one to move their rigs out of the way because an ambulance was coming through!! The new people who had lined up to register had no idea what was going on. The woman doing the registering continued to ignored the emergency situation as it unfolded!! The same thing would have happened later on, when the fire rescue team arrived, if the woman on the horse had not stationed herself at the registration area, told people what was going on, and ask them to PLEASE CLEAR THE DRIVE! I heard later, that the ambulance took the woman's injured friend, to Adams-Friendship hospital. There they discovered her initial injuries (several broken ribs and a back broken in at least two places) were so severe they med.flighted her down to U.W.Madison Hospital! The actions(Or should I say inaction?) of this camp ground host was inexcusable! Shame, shame, shame on the campground management of Ukarydee!!

We camped at this campground twice in 2012 and both times had problems with the electric at our sites. We paid for electric in advance, as did dozens of other campers but did not have any power. This appears to be the norm there, as we discovered from talking with other campers, that the owners needs to be upgrade the service to handle the all the new sites they;ve added to the campground, and because, of all the bigger rigs people camp out of, these days. To our surprise, and total DISMAY, the owners wife refused to refund us for the electric we paid for and did not get!!! To top it off, she reacted to our complaints about not having power at our site, as if it were a joke! When it's hot&humid and you have paid to be able to use your air conditioning, and your camping units other amenities, and can't, it is no joke!!! There is a Very poor business ethic going on at this camp ground!!! Another issue: The fenced in areas at each site are a nice feature, but, the owners need to haul dirt into most of the pens to raise them level, so when it rains, horses won't have to stand in mud holes. On a high note: We really enjoyed the well marked, well maintained trails!! The riding was great!

People camping at Ukarydee need to know that the owner who lives on the property has life time supervision (sex offender).

Don't trust the owners! We paid for 2 sites(47&49)for the weekend of Sept 16th, the owners (wife) asked if we would be willing to give up one site because their was a women that came in later in the day had claimed to have reserved one of our sites, and this woman was having a fit, the owners wife said if we moved she would refund our money for that site, so we said sure no problem, we could make a corral with fencing we had in the trailer. So we moved all our stuff and made the new fence, but when it came time to collect our refund on Sunday no one was home. We called and her husband answered and refused to refund us, and he even went so far as to say well why did you move? you should have stayed... wow really! We were being nice to your wife so she wouldn't get into more trouble.... and sadly my husband said that she was in the back ground so it was not like she didn't know, so she is just as guilty of bad business as he is. So the fact is she said she would give us a refund and when we moved she decided she didn't want refund us. Do not trust them, they say one thing and do another!!It's sad we enjoyed going there and would camp there about 3 times a year. Bad bad business! We wont be back :( C

I've been camping at Ukarydee for about 4 years. The sandy trails are so beautiful and well maintained. The campground hosts are friendly and helpful. It's a great place to ride the days away and sit around the campfire with friends at night. I highly recommend it!

First time camping here and was very happy with the accommodations. The round pens at each campsite were a nice change from picket lines. Trails were well marked and easy to navigate, not to mention beautiful to ride. They are suitable for any level rider. The campground was clean and well kept, and camp hosts were very nice. Mike and Mary were both very accommodating and put up with all of my questions. Can't say enough good things about this campground and trails, we will definitely return.

Being close to home, Ukarydee Campground is the place we go to most often. The hosts (Mike and Mary) are very accomodating and we always have a great stay. Lately, we've been going mid-week and often find we are the only campers. The weekends are always pretty full come late Sept. & Oct. Trails are flat and mostly sand so no shoes needed. There are a few spots where it can get wet and muddy. Some new trails are being added this fall to replace a few that were lost. During the summer bugs will be a problem (deer flies and mosquitos).

My most favorite place to ride! Beautiful Fall colors. Sandy footing, miles and miles of trails through woods and along the Wisconsin River. Ponds and wildlife. Some hills, some trails are for horse drawn buggies. All trails are for equine use only, no motorized vehicles allowed. Trail map and trails are marked very well, so no chance of getting lost. Camping for 2 days, I rode both days and never covered all the trails. The campground is very accomidating. Water, electric, outdoor toilets with access to shower. Each campsite has a corral for the horses. Warm up arena and a round pen. Great place, great people, great trails.

The trails are beautiful, the campgroud is large and accessable. There are round pens at each site, or you can put up tape in the paddocks. We love it here! We have only been in spring and fall, but there is lots of water to cross, hills, sand, just about anything that you could want. Lots of sites available, so you can plan a large group function here.

We camp here often and love it for our spring trips - easier for the fat out of shape horses coming out of thier winter hiatus. Expect to see many large birds including the Eagle and Osprey. One trail goes directly under an Eagle nest. Very friendly campground hosts. The larger rigs fit better in the field sites. Sites in the woods are much tighter. Can be "buggy" in summer.
