Eagle Cap Wilderness has trails at the head of Wallowa Lake that range from easy near the lake to "for expert only" in the deep of the wilderness. It is awesome beauty and well worth taking a trip there. There are many trail heads to access the wilderness from La Grande just off the interstate highway to the end of the state road on Highway 82 going into Wallowa County. Remember it is primative and you must bring all your own equipment for camping. (cell phones don't work)It is camping in the real sense of the word, nothing for the weak of spirit. |
