The campground is very nice, large clean bathhouse, instant hot water in the private room showers. Good stalls. Camp host, Chris, was great - shared lots of info about the trails & recommended where we rode. There are easy, wide trails and challenging trails. Nice little obstacle trail to play on. We rode Chicken Hollow (Wet Prong, Collie Ridge, Blair) a very nice easy 10 mile loop with some creek crossings. For more of a challenge we rode McCoy Hollow/First Creek - the hills were not steep, but plenty of rocky places to navigate with some places for the horses to climb or jump up/down - very beautiful with big rock formations, creeks and waterfalls - we rode all 18 miles of McCoy Hollow in one day, but next time will use the gravel road that goes up the center of the loop to make it 2 shorter days of riding. Will have to come back a few times to make sure we ride the other 40+ miles of trails we didn't get to. Easy to get to with truck & trailer. One of the best camps we've been in and great trails - definitely recommend. |
