The trails were shady and nicely trimmed. There were parts of the trails that were very muddy and were not passable. The horse trails were not clearly marked and it was not clear as to which areas of the park were for equine. You are not allowed to go outside of the horse trail area and it is not clear as to which area you are to stay within. We were approached by a not so friendly park offical who made us aware that we had crossed over into an area that was not for horses. Had the area been marked we would have stayed with in the equine area. Loyd Park would not be my first choice for trails in the South DFW area; however, they are open most days of the year. If you are looking for a trail when others may be closed this is an option. Cost for entry is $10. |
