First time here for us and we really loved it. Will definitely be back. The trails were amazing and the campground and host were nice. Electric sites with water for the horses. The stalls were big. The price was also good. There were not any hidden taxes, charges, etc. You just paid for an electric site and stall basically. For two of us with two horses it was $32 per night. I thought that was pretty descent. The trails were not excessively muddy either. They also sell ice at the camp ground which is a plus. We will definitely be returning.

I have been going to this ride since the late 1970's a lot has changed and yes the price has increased- hasn't everything. The only things that haven't changed are the mess hall and rec. hall. There is a reason that many of us return- the people and the atmosphere. The mud has always been and it's alot quieter at night than it used to be. As long as this ride continues & I still can ride a horse I'll keep going.

The trails may be muddy in spots, but you can't beat the riding here! (But if you like to ride on well-groomed, marked "bridle paths", this isn't the place for you.) Some trials are challenging; your horses need to be in good condition and be sure they are shod. The campgrounds could use some work -- stalls are not the best -- but it is nice to have a covered box stall for your horse. Bathrooms/showers are not always clean or stocked with supplies.

READERS BEWARE--There's the appearance of some 'funny business' going on with the reviews of camps in PA. On specific dates within minutes of each other are posted (under different alias's) horrible reviews on Flying W, Summers Alleghany, and Hickory Creek camps. On those same dates are posted good reviews of Cook Scenic camp. For example, check 11/12/06, 2/26/07, 12/5/07, and 12/5/07. I've never been to any of these camps, in fact never been to PA. Be aware that ANYONE can post reviews anonymously on this board. Negative reviews can be from competing campground owners, crazy neighbors, or ex-girlfriends. Positive reviews can be from the campground owner, family, or friends. Don't believe everything you read.

Food was not plentiful nor high quality, pretty bland tasting. The games were fun. Rowdy at night for sleeping. Too much boozing. campground was muddy and the shower facility needed some cleaning etc. I'd rate it a D on a report card. Too expensive for all you receive. There are much better rides at cheaper rates. Shop around and get the most value for your money guys. I will not return.

The government is only going to allow designated trails for a total of 25 miles of riding and shutting off the national forest so I am afraid this will hurt the riding here. There are no maps of trails as of yet. the place sets down in and is wet alot especially when it rains...gets muddy. Needs better drainage. some of the campers are nice.

I came with hopes and expectations of seeing wonderful scenery with nice camping and I am sorry to say was very disappointed. If it were any more muddier I would've had to get a tractor to pull me out. Food was not very good and no choices much. Cost was too high for what you got. I will definately not return.

This place is a dump. Way too muddy. Showers were dirty and not kept stocked when they have their smorgasbord rides. They really don't give any variety at the meals either. If you don't like spaghetti you are "tough luck charlie" there is no variety. They do not have any trail maps nor marked trails at all. Save your money folks and don't waste it going here. I will not return.
