The trails are extremely rocky, hilly and not well marked. The campground is in disarray, not well maintained, and the roads to the facility are difficult to navigate. It has potential but not developed.

The Meadow Creek Resort has so many options available for camping, lodging, and horse-keeping. Stalls to picketing, private cabins to LQ hookups or primitive camping. An excellent destination. The onsite trails are short and just loop back to the main area, so not hard to get lost, and easy to go for a short ride if it's too hot or buggy. If you want to go up into the forest and see some FANTASTIC views, I would suggest getting a trail map of the area from the Forestry Service. I would not recommend going far into the forest on a horse that is not in at least decent shape, also, shoes all around are a must for some of the rocky areas.
