2010- many of these reviews are old. This park is very nice. Clean warm showers, spacious camping, nice clean stalls and good trails. My family liked the fun show it was well organized and did not have the politics of 4H. We will be going back.

I live here in the area and would not ride the trails at crooked creek for awhile as they were not very marked and were confusing. A friend talked me into going today and I must say they are in much better shape and are marked wonderfully. The lollipop loop is a wonderful trail and very scenic. I hope we have some more good weather to ride them again. I can't wait to try them out in the spring. Give them a try

What a waste of money! Trails are gone, map and web site make it look great, but you can ride about an hour on two different trails. The rest are roads and I was told the trails were washed out about 4 years ago and never fixed. Beautiful country, just no trails. ALSO fun show on Sat, Mounted shooting evening, and 4H show on Sunday. Got tired of the announcing and noise.

Rode there this weekend. Very disappointed--lots of road riding & trails not marked or not there. "Beaver Dam" trail is non existant but still on the map. Lollipop (Peninsula trail) got 1/2 mile in and trail disappeared & was dangerously overgrown. That pretty much left only the trails that you have to haul to from the campground and we did not want to bother with that. I will not return for trail riding. Campground has electric hookup, but you need an adapter. The oulets are 30 amp, so a regular extension cord (15 amp) will not work. Also, had to put up our own tie lines. Lots of potential, but not currently living up to website hype. Glad I did not drive 3 hrs. to get there.

We spent Memorial Weekend at this place and had a wonderful time. The staff went out of their way to accomodate us and the facilities were very clean and well maintained. The trails we rode were a bit rough, definately not for beginners but were marked as such on the trail map. Prices were extremly reasonable. Our overall experience was great and I would highly recommend Crooked Creek. We plan to return often.

Camped at Fort Armstrong Campground. Nice sites w/ electric, water, and shower/bathroom facilities. Plenty of room for larger rigs or groups to camp together. Super friendly staff. Nice stalls for horses, no need to worry with picket tying. Great rates. The trails here were average. After advise from staff we trailered our horses a short distance to a nearby trailhead. This was the most beautiful place I've ever rode. The trails were well marked and offered a variety of terrain and sights. This rates as my most favorite trail to date.
