As we love to ride in mountains, this ride is more of a beginner level. There are some areas that we love to ride to condition our horses. This local park has been maintained by the local OHC and has had maintenance done on the muddy areas. A really nice clean place for the family to ride.

I've been to this park a few times and really enjoy riding the 19-mile loop there. It's not "difficult" riding at all, has some great open spaces to gait or canter, and some areas that run alongside the water are quite pretty. In wet weather, I think some of the areas have potential to get a little sloppy if they are used heavily. However, our horses were kicking up (a lot of) dust during our recent rides and it was great! Trails are well-maintained and well-marked, it looks as though they have made recent improvements to some areas (gravel, drainage, etc) and with well-spaced rest areas to tie the horses when you need to take a break. I have never camped there but I think they have just recently put in water lines and there is a nice little covered pavilion with picnic tables. It's a shame that the state of Ohio acts as though it would rather not have horses or horse-campers in the parks at all, but the local OHC has done a fantastic job of making Caesar Creek an enjoyable place to ride!

Nice campground. The horsemans council is doing a great job keeping the campground and trails really nice. New highlines installed in the main campground and the group campground. Had to get directions to the beach from a local (its not marked but off the moon something trail forgot the name) The beach is nice and gradually gets deaper, very safe for horses. Very fun. Trail not hilly at all, a few small hills along the soldago trail, a couple really nice picnic areas off the soldago trail also. Just note that when going out the soldago trail it ends at a parking area, you will then need to ride the road (not busy at all) and the entrance to continue on the trail is on the lelft. As others stated, pit toliets and two hand water pumps. It was not to muddy for us at all, some mud but no big deal. I can see how it could get semi bad if it rained a lot.

Love CCSP! Trails are nice, can be muddy and rocky as noted in most these reviews. Love riding down to the beach and running on the beach and in the water! Great desensitizing training for any horse. Lots of miles of trails. Campground is primitive but adequate.

This was our first time here and we loved it. Trails are mostly flat but have nice nice scenery. It was dry out so no mud and perfect for the barefoot rider. We did get lost a couple of times but figured it out fairly quickly. Camp ground is primitive but has water for the horses and pit toliets. There are poles for high lines but you have to bring your own line. Each site has place for camp fire and picnic table. The best spots are to the left when pulling in as they are the only sites with shade. We will definatly go again.

This was the first real trail ride I had ever done with my horse at a state park. I went for the Hooves for the Cure Ride (changed to 'Saddle Up for the Cure' for 2010). There was nothing particularly difficult about the trails. They were soft from prior rain, but not bad mud spots. The trail markers were confusing, but it's hard to get lost. I'm going again for this years ride.

I am within an easy drive to day-ride at CCSP, but have only been there once because of all the warnings about mud. Of course, the one time I did visit the mud was not a problem at all. I could see where it could get very sloppy, though, so I probably wouldn't bother to trailer over unless it was during a dry spell. There were a few spots where the trail looked like it was going to wash out into a ditch, or with deep holes on one side, so be cautious. All in all it was decent riding, but not particularly challenging.

The toilet was horrible! Do they ever clean them out!! You could pass out just from the smell. No lights in the bathrooms either. Cobwebs galore! I guess we were lucky to have toilet paper. The trails were nice. Went when it wasn't so muddy. First time going. I will bring a porta potti next time, if we go again.

I live 10 mins from Cesar Creek horse trails and I would rather haul an hour or more to get to someplace with decent trails! The trails are mostly mud pits & weeds. It's a real shame that the park services only seems to mow when it's time for hunting season. The OHC group has worked hard, but there is still alot to be done. Mowing the trails once in a while,& alot of gravel would help. Part of the Solidago trail runs through the dog training area - live ammo and dogs running everywhere - I'm sure they don't like us riding through their training area, and we don't like it either.

Caesar's Creek has some very deepy muddy areas, avoid some areas off Moonlight Vista / Farmers Trace. Solidago Downs is best to avoid the mud. The OHC is working to improve the muddy areas, but it will be another year or two before they are complete. They are also planning to better mark the trails.
