The new campground near the "mare barn" was great, with water and electric hook-ups. The historic barns were old, but safe. Trails were very pretty, but not well marked, which was not a real problem. The worst part was all of the gaits you had to open and close. There was a "rails to trails" trail that went into town, but unfortunately was closed to horses. The park superentendant seemed more interested in rodeo night than trail riding. Lots of great history to explore while not riding. Be sure to eat in the park reasaurant, huge portions, reasonable prices and bison and trout on the menu. |
