These trails are great. You can rde from maddox camp to muddcut camp. Both camps looks spacious and prob hold about 10 or so trailers. Plus if they are full you can along the side of the rd at camp and still have trees for pcketting. Lots of trees for picketing, which means SHADE! The forest road goes all the way through the forest but we never saw one car. I gave the camping a 2 star cause theres no water at either camp but a few places along trail. BRING YOUR OWN WATER!!! But that camp was nce and shady. They are in the early stages of expanding trails with additional mileage and a water spickett somewhere. Plus they are trying to connect Oakmulgee to CampGrist

A few of us ladies went over this past Sunday afternoon and rode for a few hours. We made the loop at camp which was a nice little climb and then back down on the other side. Roads are a bit rocky so I would recommend shoes or easy boots to prevent OUCHIES on horses. We didn't make it to the trail at the top of the mountain. Its a 4 mile ride to the top. However there are other 2 track trails we could have taken. But it was getting hot and we forgot water. BRING YOUR OWN WATER. Mud Cut is where we parked and we parked our trailers in there just fine. Camp is primitive and is a great place to go for the day. There is talk about connecting the 2 trails together to avoid riding on the road and gravel. Camp also has big trees for picketing. There are 2 other small areas across from the Mud Cut Camping area that could hold 2 trailers each with trees for picketing as well, if the main camp is full. This place needs to be used so the park will consider connecting the 2 trails. Call Joe and voice your concerns to help speed things up.

Camp ground is very primitive and quiet. We didn't see a soul all weekend. I take that back we did see and talk to the game warden. Which was good, tells us someone is keeping an eye on the camp grounds. NO WATER! So better bring your own. It did rain and we found a creek while we where out riding. We stayed at Mud Cut Horse Camp. Camp has BIG pine trees for picketing and could easily hold about 5-10 horse trailers, (if parked right). I gave the campground 3 stars because it was primitive and there wasn't water. But over all, we will be going back.
