Awesome place!! Need more electric sites, it's a tight area; but if you can go primitive, that campground is beautiful. In my opinion the state needs to find the funding to add electric there. Bath houses are good at both electric and primitive sites. The trails have had major work done to them after lots of tornadic, ice storm and hurricane wind damage from several years ago. We stopped going because of the damage on the trails. Not now tho! The riding can be challenging but the scenery is beautiful and rewarding! The state needs to update the Blue River/Iron Bridge side of the horse trail map, for their expensive $10 HUGE map is incorrect only in that area. And the sad part is that the Blue River trail is the most beautiful part of their trail system! In fact, the trail map does not show the best trail leading out of the electric horsemen's camp! So carry a gps! Trails can be rough but there are moderate to easy ones too. Just recommend you go and explore. We have always been Indiana Brown County State Park horse trail fans, but this park blows them out of the water. It's a jewel in Indiana. Recommend your horses be shod and in shape.

Well we made it back! Loved every minute of it! The Halloween party was great, MANY MANY camps decorated, the park had a contest for the best decorated, hay rides, pumpkin carving contest, and Trick or Treating! Seems like the whole small town came out. Kids Galore dressed up and Trick or Treating. Trail riding was awesome! More trail miles for wagons have been added, a=with more coming we're told. We stayed in the Horse Electric Campground (D). Great campsites, awesome shower house. We are going to schedule a couple trips a year hear at least. The staff at the park is awesome!

The park workers were very nice and accomodating however the electric horseman's campground was a huge disappointment. The sites are very close and extremely short. A large rig would definitely not fit and we noticed most had to unhook the trailer from the truck to fit in the spots. A large rv and trailer would not fit in any. The primitive campground appeared VERY nice and did have water but no electric. Those sites were quite a bit larger and spaced nicely. The trails were in good shape despite the fact it had rained heavily the night before. They are very rocky and very steep in some spots but also there were some very nice views. Horses should be in good shape for these trails and riders should not be beginners as some hills are very intimidating.

Awesome Place! Excellent Trails for riders and GETTING going on wagon trails too! Horse trails are moderate to difficult though there would be an option for a beginners trail. Wagon trails are just getting going and go from easy to moderate. Awesome People from the Gate House to the rest of the staff! Very Friendly and Accommodating, Family Atmosphere, not tons of noisy yelling and excessive partying. Children too! Arena Facility available, handicapped area for riders, AWESOME POOL with 3 great Water Slides! Pioneer Homestead Village and Nature Center to visit and look around! Can not wait to get back to this camp. It does require IN DNR Bridle Tags for park horse use. We Loved it and are very excited to go BACK!
