Campground host rude, worse than no help. "YOU HORSE PEOPLE" Talked with FS and camping organization. No signs to horse camp, host would give no directions. drove my Lq 10ft/w 4h all over to finally find it. Road not wide enough for us to back in, no corrals, highline, nothing. We had to rig highline in virgin areas (OK, but this was supposed to be a horse camp, had NO horse facitities). Trails OK, alot of up and back, no real loops, I would never return. Sangre De Christos are beautiful approaching.

I gave this campground a 5 because to location to the trails. We rode right out from our campsite. The only negative I could say was there was no corrals as we were told there would be. The camp hosts were great and checked on us everyday. They even talked to the forestery service (who is responsible for camp maintainence) about building corrals. The trails were a slow climb to the top elevation.The meadows and the glaciers were beautiful. I would say that an intermediate rider who do just fine here.
