Coming in off HWY 7 I would not advise if it has been raining, I would come in on Hwy 16 to Old Hwy 27 to Victor Road. Although my group was there the coldest week on record from October 25 - Nov 2 We got snowed on, rained most of the time, water lines froze up 2 nights we made the most of it. John was great, made us feel like family, the camp ground has 18 sites with water, elect and fire rings no picnic tables, there are 30 very nice and big covered stalls first come first serve (might want to bring chore boots it can get very muddy in front of the stalls. He has bedding and hay (very nice hay) for sale at reasonable prices. There is a community room with a heater, games, puzzles, ect... we used it a lot to get out of the rain, there is a shower house 3 toilets and 1 showers, clean and there is a heater. The trails are color coded and marked extremely well if you get lost that is your own fault, there is a lot of road riding to get to some of the trails. John has nice maps that will tell you how to get you where you want to go and he can tell you what trails to ride to see beautiful scenery. Riding is rocky I would suggest all 4 shoes. There is a small town south on Old Hwy 27 about 25 miles if you need food or supplies. Falling Waters is around 8 miles to the west, Boston Mountain is around 20 miles to the east and Caney Mountain is around 50 miles to the east is what we were told all around the Buffalo River area, its very pretty down in that part of AR |
