This is a great location to access the Sandhills Gamelands. The trails go through pine forest so not super shady. They are sandy and are suitable for barefoot horses and many are wide enough for carriages and wagons. The sand drains pretty well so it's a good place to ride even if has rained.
Laura is a wonderful hostess! The stalls are large, airy and well constructed. It's all primitive camping but water and electrical outlets are available in the barn. Campers can use the wash racks, round pen and arena. If you don't want to camp you can also trailer in for day use.
Whinny Works has direct access to the Gamelands where there are a hundreds or more miles of trails. The trails are sandy and suitable for barefoot horses. Many trails are wide enough for wagons and carriages. When planning to ride pay attention to hunting seasons. |
