Don't let prior reviews scare you off. The trails are GOOD. They are well marked. They vary from open grassland to woods to hilly. Download a trail map from the park website. Orange vest during hunt season probably a good idea. Lots of gates to open so its good schooling for your horse. Also good water for your horse scattered throughout. On windy day the windmills might scare some horses (another desensitization opportunity).

Primitive camping with the best set of trails in the area! Been going for years and just love it!

Decided to try this park on a whim...had a blast...lots of different scenery...LOTS of water features....we got on the trails at about 330p and made it back to the trailer after dark...even in the dark we didnt get lost...ponied off two green horses and had a blast...only "issue" is the gates...great to work your horse on gate opening and closing, but it became kinda tricky when you have a youngster at the end of a lead rope with you...but definately not enough of an issue to keep us from coming back...

Wonderful trails, you feel like you are back in the Old West, with vistas and views. Soft sandy conditions for your horses. Many choices and even I did not get lost. We had a mishap on one ride and lost a horse for a few hours, but with networking and some prayers he was returned to us by someone along the trail.

Have to agree with other posters...best trail system in North Texas. Trails range from flat and easy to challenging in places...scenery is great and the trails are so well marked you CAN NOT get lost! This is one of my FAVORITE places to ride and condition.

Best trail system in North Texas. Over 75 miles of well marked trails. Terrain is gently rolling hills with good footing. Camping is primative. Trails maintained by Texas Arabian Distance Riders Association. Check out their web site. http://tadra.org/frigid_digit_05.htm
