Nice primitive campground. Pit toilets were clean. Did not notice a shower house in primitive area. May want to ask at gatehouse if you can use electric peoples campground's showers. Ours is in our trailer (we're spoiled). Most of the sites are in the sun but there are quite a few that offer shade in the morning or afternoon. This state park is geared more towards the enjoyment of the lake. We did not go to the beach, but it looked like a nice one. There are play areas for children in the primitive campground too. The campsites were well kept, gravel and accessible to water. There were no wheel barrows and most of the manure areas looked like they needed some TLC. The trails were marked reasonably well. Once you get acclimated it wasn't too hard to navigate. There are two trail maps. Be sure you get the one at the trail heads, for they have the numbered trails. If not, the numbered trails are the ones that jut out to the lake but are marked in blue on the other map. That map makes you think they are part of the blue trail but they are not. Trail 4 was blocked by several downed trees and was hard to navigate. We made it to the lake but it was not easy. The other side of that trail was blocked so we had to turn around and go back the way we came in, which was not an easy feat! Trail 3 is a similar trail on the map but we chose not to do it thinking that it might have trees down too. Otherwise, the streams were easy to traverse, there's a lot of places to cut your trail shorter and we saw the most wildlife that we've seen on a trial in Indiana in a long time. That part was very cool! Stopping at the Bozarths camp store is neat too. We plan on going back. Hopefully by then they will have cleared the trees on a couple of the trails.
