We love the trails, we've never experienced the flooding problems, but we've always been here during the winter. Lots of variety, loops of every length, mostly well-marked (with just an occasional marker on the wrong side of a tree that's hard to see. Saw two bald eagles here last year. Love this place, but we mostly day ride because they have a NO PET POLICY that keeps us from camping. If they had a DOGS ON LEASH policy, we'd max out our stay at the campground, which might help in supporting better maintenance of the facilities!!

There is hardly any shade on any of these trails. Be prepared with lots of water and a good hat. Trails are very well marked and it's not easy to get lost. Saw some deer and hogs on the trails. Deerflies are VERY BAD! Never seen so many houseflies at the campground! Showers with hot and cold water. Paddocks are large, but NOT maintained! Lots of broken boards and fencing. Warning-look over the stall or paddock Very carefully before you put your horses in! Water available for horses to drink and a hose to washdown horses. Primitive camping only.

February was a great month this year. There has been no rain for months and it has been very cool. The park is just beautiful. The trails are all dry and there has been some controlled burns so the trails a clear and wide. The more I ride this park the more I like it. You can find places to just sit on a log and enjoy a good smoke or drink. I always see some wildlife from deer to birds to snakes. You can ride for 1 hour or 8 hours. I did over 21 miles there one day.

Trails will be under 2-3" of water most of the year. The bugs are many but the camping is good. Stalls for the horses. Easy to get to.

Good trails that are clearly marked on level ground. Nice turnouts, but they need to be better maintained (Posted signs of poison berries with alot of dead tree branches). The stalls have no locks and a horse escaped during the night of our stay. Lots of area to camp and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great place to train for endurance riders.

Participated in a CTR type fun run. Trails were well marked and very dry. Campgrounds are primitive but there are paddocks and stalls with water for horses.

Most of the trails were under 2" to 3" of water. We ended up riding on the roads. Last year (2002) we rode here several times and it was always dry. Fortunately, the campground was dry. It's one of the nicer primitive camping areas with permanent corrals for the horses. There are showers for people. Also, this year there was a campground host on-site, but they didn't know much about the horse trails.

We rode DuPuis on January 4, 2003 and were surprised to find that the trails were flooded with 2" to 4" of water. About 80% of the length of the trail we rode was flooded. We ended up riding the roads. Last year at this time, the trails were completely dry.
