The campground was OK, hosts were friendly, food was marginal. but the 2 things I really didn't like were you couldnt ride out on your own unless you had been going for a while, no marked trails and our trail boss had to bushwack at times because HE got lost. Also the pigs were a problem I wish they would resolve, one followed us for 1/2 of our ride and the horses definately didn't like it.

I've been attending the Birdsong ride ever since it began. I've enjoyed every minute of my rides there in April and October until the owners began letting pot-bellied pigs run amok during the trail riding season. Why don't they secure the pigs during the trial riding season?? They have a dog leash rule because some horses aren't used to dogs, but most horses aren't desensitized to pigs--right? I can't ride there anymore and won't ride at Birdsong anymore until they agree to secure the pigs for the safety of the horses and riders. I haven't asked them to get rid of the pigs--just secure them until the ride is over! Is that too much to ask??

Trails were not marked, bath house showers were flooded and the toilets were over flowing. This was during an organized ride so I am thinking it just couldn't with stand so many using shower house and bathroom at one time. The food was excellent I have to say. Many stalls were not dry when it rained. Met a lot of nice people. The trails are not for those who want adventure, it is a peaceful ride and for those who do not like difficult.

I have been going to this campground for ten years during their October ride. These people are wonderful, the campground is filled with great people. The trails are generally very good, well marked, easy. There are more difficult trails for those who want them. There are two guided rides going out each day of their organized rides. Great food (home cooking -- best of the area's organized rides). I highly recommend it.
