The trails here are flat and not challenging at all. Good for a nice afternoon ride but have to spray good as the ticks are really thick

We loaded up and hauled all the way over, only to discover that the horse trails are closed indefinately due to the gov't seqeuster.

We really Love Lonesome D and have been riding here for years. The owners are trying to get in back where it needs to be the park and bath houses were clean and trash free. The cabins are finished. Trails had some new markers but still need more clean up of some downed trees and some new maps. But so gald to see they were busy had a lot of visitors and looked alot better

Easy trail riding. $5 per truck/trailer. 1.5hrs for the short loop and 3.25 for the long loop. As others have said, lots of deer and ticks. Even though it's a battle field, there's basically nothing to see on your ride except a few canons. The park it's self has very little to see for that matter. We had a nice enjoyable ride though. Good for beginners.

A lovely afternoon ride for intermediate riders or beginners or those just wanting to get away for a few hours. Lots of ticks in the summer-bring spray! Great historical site! No camping. About 2-3 hours of ride.

Great trails for beginners. Also, great to test your horse around deer. They seem to be everywhere, so are the ticks.

There is a new area for parking this 2007 season, just for horse trailers with tie ups for your horse and it is in the trees verry nice
