We tried going here over Memorial day weekend, but a huge Texas thunderstorm ran us out. We liked the campground, we were the only horse group there. The trail map looked inviting, so we took the chance to return today. All park staff we have met is very nice and helpful. Lots of room to park trailers. We were again only horses there. Trails are mostly marked if for horses, hiking, or bikes, with a few places trail markers down from the storms (yep, cleanup still going, it was a major storm). We explored the north half, and we are looking forward to going back to explore the southern part of the park soon. The only trail maps we found online were on MountainBikeTx website.

Been there several times. There are two parts with trails, a large stream separates the two sets of trails. There are two entrances, the best trails are actually on the other side from the equestrian campsites. Both sides have troughs and equine facilities. There are miles of trails and it takes some time to find the good spots but there is A LOT of diverse terrain at this park. Spend the time and explore- great hills!

Beautiful campground with pens large enough for two friendly horses, water, electric, nearby showers. It has over 60 miles of trails, all immaculately groomed with lovely scenery--they were a little flat but suitable for lots of extended trotting with a few technical areas. As an endurance rider, I enjoyed having the miles in which to ride. It's 7 miles to the nearest Walmart, and friendly park people were welcoming. They only close occasionally for winterizing of campground--not an annual event.

WE camped at the equestrian camp grounds and found them excellent. Beautiful native pecans, great pens, shady campsites with water and electricity. Trails are easy, but we will return.

I've not made it down here yet to ride. I tried to reserve a site for Feb 8th but they said the equestrian sites are closed for the winter. I didn't think the winters in this area were so bad that they would have to close down the parks... oh wait, the park isn't closed just the Equestrian camping area.
