I have been ridding these trails for 10 years since I live a 20 min drive away. I do not recommend them for summer ridding as the water can be up to your horses belly, the mosquitoes are killer, and long stretches of trails lack adequate shade. For winter ridding the trails are wonderful. Good footing, wide, and miles upon miles of them. Like I said I have been ridding out there for 10 years and I can still find new places to explore. (This is not recommended until you are familiar with the trails!) Lots of connecting side spurts and fish and game trails will take you far south into the everglades. (The southern most trails lack shade). Plenty of opportunity to open your horse up for a run no matter what trail you are on but watch out for cap rock as some sections of the northern trails are riddled with it. Lots of diverse ecosystems to see out there. |
