Extensive trailer parking available, along with toilet (primitive). Parking area does fill up towards late morning on weekends. Very popular with trail riders. Trail is good for conditioning horses, with hills to navigate - but is not difficult, and should be suitable for beginners as well as expert. Trail is around seven miles long (depending on loop chosen), and IS shared with hikers as well as many other riders, so keep this in mind when galloping around those blind corners. :-) My horse and I complete the trail in a little over an hour, and usually do the trails twice before heading home. State Park day use permit required ($3 per day or annual pass). Campgrounds are available, but NOT for horses. During summer the park opens at 7:00am, closes at sunset. Park is located at 24101 S Entrance Rd, Estacada, OR 97023 - and is 25 miles SE of Portland. Further information call 503-630-7150. |
