Trails were not too difficult, but were very nice. This was one of my first trail trips away from home with my horse, and we had a great time. The day use area was very nice with plenty of corrals should you need them. There were bathrooms and picnic areas for the day use area as well. I did not overnight there, but the equestrian campground did have corrals and running water as well as a bathroom (not sure about showers)

loved the variety of trails and views. unshod horses did fine. I wouldn't recommend aug or sept unless you like it very hot. nice showers though not right in camp, they are a short hill walk away. overfull pit toilets in camp. Bring long hoses as water is not available at every site for the horses. Saw lots of wildlife, beautiful location. Park staff: fellow at gate somewhat unfriendly, though staff on phone was very friendly and helpful. I would and will go again! We tent camped, plenty of room for tents.

We enjoyed Caspers a lot. Miles of trails and great views. Our favorite campsite was #19 at the end, more private and easy for a large trailer combo. Fellow campers were friendly too. Extra corrals placed around so you can have your 2 horses in camp and 2 more nearby. Watch out for cactus in the riverbed trail. Can be hot in the summer.

I went with a friend and we had the best time, the best camp sites are 8 and 9, they have a view of the mountains and trees that block the other campers and horses, also this site is right by the trail to the bath rooms... The trails are really pretty, went in April and May, April still had water in the streams and it was very green but May was dry and all the green was gone. There are a ton of trails, and our horses loved it, a little rocky so be careful if your horses are bare foot. Enjoy...

Casper's is a great place to horse camp. Riders can choose easy, short trails that meander through beautiful oak & sycamore woods or more challenging uphill trails with great views. We tent camped in a site that had both shade and sun. Our trailer was close to tacking up was a breeze. All the sites have at least 2 corrals each and let your horses be part of the overall camping experience with you. I loved sitting around the campfire at night with our horses right there with us. There was even a horse trail up to the showers with a burly hitchin post to tie up to. Can't wait to go back!

take into concideration that I've only been to 2 campgrounds for horse camping but I really like Caspers - I've stayed there several times - it is typical So Cal - not a lot of trees and hilly but the trails are kept up and it is close enough to the city in case you forget something at home
