Although we haven't camped at Town Creek, we recently rode there and were completely blown away by how much work the local chapter of BCHA has done. We have ridden here before and found it overgrown with briars, and hard to enjoy. Now it is a wonderful trail! Water has been added at the trail head, which was much appreciated since it was hot weather when we went. We chose to ride the entire trail which ends at a beautiful spring, which the horses loved! You need a long day to be able to complete the whole ride. Please give these trails another try! We loved them. Horses did have shoes, because there are some rocky spots.

These trails have potential to be good but we tried to ride them today and they where very overgrown. We turned back after a half mile and bloody arms from the rose and berry bushes. There was also severe erosion on part of the trail, although still negotiable. Needs several work days by interested parties. The primitive camp area is on a slope and there is no water. I realize by writing this post riders might be discouraged to ride these trails and the situation will become worse. My hope is a group will adopt these trails and make them better.

Been riding these trails since they opened, NICE! The park trails are open this yr even through hunting season, but you shouldb e advised to stay on the marked trails. The properties around the trails are hunting properties, so dress accordingly. CAMPING, was finally installed. HOWEVER, it is primitive. You will need to register at the town creek boat rental place beside the parking area to the trails. I picked 2 stars for the camnping becasue its primitive, nothing else. Its nice all together though.

Great trails! Rode there 7 or 8 times in the summer of 2006, mostly 5 to 6 hrs each time. Lots of hills & plenty of climbs, a breast collar is a must, some rocky terrian, I'd recommend shoes on horses, altho I saw some bare foot horses & they did fine. It's good work out for both horse & rider, with nice places to stop for breaks, some at the water. It's a pretty place to just get out ride, whatever your pace, slow or fast, this place has it.

Well I went back to Guntersville and had a local gal show us group of us somewhat locals around. WOW had no idea the amout of trails that are there. There ARE ALOT of unmarked trails. ALOT!!!! I bet you we rode 6 hrs before we even got to our lunch spot, NICE BIG creek to swim in or let horse wash off. There are ALOT of trails, But I remind you AGAIN hilly and lots of climbs, but its great for the horses. AND its MOSTLY in the shade, bout 99% of the time, SHADED... Camping I hear is coming SOON. YOU can CAMP at BUCKS pocket which also has 6miles of trails buti bet you if there are anything like the ones at town creek, there will be alot of other UNMARKED trails to ride. Town creek and bucks pocket are only about 5 miles apart.

Trails are very hilly and have some steep grades. Shadey though threw MOST of the trails, cooler too. I rode about 4 hrs and didn't even ride everything on the map. There are more unmarked trails that I didnt ride. I beleive you could ride all day. No camping but I hear there will be soon. No water so bring yours for horse and rider. HOWEVER there is a lake pavilions across the street with bath house. Anyone wants to meet up feel free to email me
