We only live 7 miles away so this is like our home trail, I almosst don't want to let everyone know about it. but it is a great spot to get young horses used to almost any terrian, creek crosings steep hills a dam crossing, hikers, dogs, bikers (the trails are shared with bikes but all are aware horses my be around any corner. There are a couple places where you can get you horse in the lake safely enough to let them swim, great for hot days.We have never camped there but you ride right through the camprgound and it looks great, but there are no facilities for horses overnight I guess they would have to be cross tied. but hey we're only 7 miles away give us a call we have room.

I ride in the park frequently. It has two sections, one section near the horse parking has several loops that cross one another. It is mostly riding through scenic woods that border the lake. At the trailer parking, there is water for your horses and picnic tables. The second loop takes you across the entrance road to the park and its destination is the campground area. It crosses the dam. You can expect about a 3 hour ride to complete the campground loops and return to the trailer parking. The campround area also has looped trails that extend beyond the campground office. These trails pass the primitive campgound facilities used for horse riders, (no water, no bathroom-this camp area is not used often for those reasons) and this series of trails again crosses streams and travels along the lake. Really nice day ride, trails are shared with bicycles.

Trails are very scenic, mostly through woods and along the lake, but are very rocky. Recommend boots for barefoot horses. Horse camping is strictly primitive and the limited miles of trails make this a better place for day riding.
