The north trail head is the better with more variety of scenery. On the day we rode it was cool (50's) and windy. Much of it is very open so the sun felt nice. The leaves on the cypress were just starting to come out. It was very dry and the areas that normally have water standing were completely dry.

Some of the areas are quite nice and shady. The campground does have stalls and water but no electric. There are many trails to choose from. Can be wet in area after heavy rain.

We rode about 15 miles on mostly single track, although we did have some fun on a stretch of graded road where we let the equines run.
