Need to be part of a group that reserves a year ahead of time to get a chance to camp here. Primitive camp with high lines, water for horses and pit toilet with covered shelter with lots of picnic tables. Lots of parking for day use but still does fill up since its so popular. Trails are in great shape and everyone should take the ride to the lodge and eat. Its mainly out and back, but very nice. Lots of highlines below the lodge. Recommend calling in your order when you arrive at the high lines and send a few people up to go get the food. A couple areas can get boggy on this trail but its worth it.

Day use campground needs to be larger and more accommodating to big trailers. Hard to get in and out of or find place to park in regular day use area as it seems to always be filled to capacity. Did have a very nice easy to get in and out of overflow area and they put a baseball field in there, why?!? Trails are easy, perfect for a couple hours out for a Saturday or Sunday ride. (Heard you can make reservation far in advance for overnight large group camping) Day use area needs to be enlarged or another area added. The overflow area was perfect until they made it a baseball field.

rode this area a year ago when it was wet, now this year hot! Took the Blue trail, had not ridden it since the gas line installed, much nicer now and well kept even after the storms of earlier this year. Trails are well marked and even on gaited horses it was a long ride. Wish we were allowed to camp as singles, do not understand why this is in Mohican.

Need a camp ground that is open to everyone like the other parks. Not only to groups.

Very nice trails, well maintained. Thank you to the people sharing private property! You are wonderful. Thet only thing bad was some one that took a dog that jumped out and barked at our horses from behind a trailer. It could have been trajick for an inexperienced rider. The park should ban dogs. They have been banned from sale barns for that purpose. Please people....use common sense! DUH

To put it as nicely as possible; They allowed the "blue" trail to get torn up! The "blue" trail was once nice; still could have been if the gas company would have at least put on the side of their roads they put in a little more clearence so your horse would not have to walk on all the new gravel that has been put down. The other trails were pretty nice though.

The trails here are some of the best in OHIO. Scenic, wide, water, road, bridges, hills, etc. Not a welcoming site. It seems that unless you are in a group of riders that you cannot camp overnight here. Discrimination to those that just want to enjoy the site and make a weekend of it. It should be open to all and not just a select few. I pay taxes to the State of OHIO and do not like the idea of being discriminated against because I don't ride in a group.

Trails well marked, very scenic, and several water crossings. Nice drainage accomodations such as railroad ties into the hills to prevent washouts. The long trail took almost 5 hours with mostly walking. Have ridden all 3 trails and enjoyed them all.

Alot of work has been done on these trails. The people who have done it should be comemded. It is dry this year and the trails are in great shape. It's too bad the campgraounds aren't available to more people. The pit toliet could use some lime but the rest is great. Take your own chair because the tables are mostly in the back the rest are in sad shape. But the riding is the best it's ever been.

Great place to ride, trails were in great shape. We rode the blue trail twice on Memorial day weekend, great place for beginning trail riders, we took our 5 and 11 eleven year old daughters along, can't wait to try the other trails too.

We rode Mohican for two days in late August 2006. The trails were in pretty good shape despite heavy storms earlier in the summer that caused alot of damage. What I was most amazed at was the lack of bugs. The temperature in the woods was cool despite being in the 80's at the trailhead. The trails were well marked. There were alot of trailers in the lot but really did not run into that many other riders in the woods. The Blue trail, the longest there, was fantastic. Lots of up and downs. There was one place late in the blue trail that was too rocky to ride down, we ended up leading the horses down.

Great place to get your horse in shape for the southern trails! The only problem is,you can't camp when ever you want. You have to be in a club.

I you are looking for a campsite close to Mohican, check out Malabar Farm State Park. It's got 15 gravel pads for horse campers. It also has about 12 miles of trails and is about 10 miles from Mohican.

We rode Mohican twice this week. Spring time has arrived! With the trees budding out, the ride looked completely different the second day. The trails are in fine shape. The park has cleared almost all of the downed trees (only two go arounds on the blue (13.5 mi) trail).
