The campground is full of permanent campers, so it is very large and full of people. The campsites are nothing to brag about, but the stalls are nice and large and safe. The main draw to this campground is JoJo. Every morning, she will go over the map with you, while drawing her own map to the destination of your choice. She will tell you the sites to see and what to look for. This was a wonderful help and we saw things that we may have not seen because of her. She also lets you know the trails to avoid, so listen to her advice. High Knob is centrally located to many of the 'must see' sites. The trails should be on everyone's bucket list. Huge rock formations, caves, beautiful water crossings. Trails can be challenging in places and muddy due to erosion. Make sure that you have new shoes on because the large rocks and mud can pull off shoes quickly. |

This is a cozy little campground with the most accommodating owners around. They are trail riders, so they know what a camper needs and wants in a campground. The campground has lots of trees and shade, gravel sites, 2 horse pens at each site, water and electricity. They have a small, but nice restroom with a shower. This is not a big campground, which makes it very relaxing. This campground is fairly new, so everything is nice. They have a great little shop with unique horsey items. The trails are very wooded with rolling hills. They are easy enough for a beginner, but have the beauty that any level rider will enjoy. A big portion of the trails are single track trails. They are pretty well marked, but a GPS phone app sure helps in some places. The owners are always willing to ride with you to show you around. They also have horses to rent. Getting to this camp is easy. No bad hills to pull, although you are a good ways from a store or gas station, so don't go there on empty. This is a little jewel of a campground that you will enjoy! |

A large portion of the campground is out in the open, but is very clean and well maintained. The stalls are very large and very safe for your horses. The only issue would be in hot weather because the stalls are just about completely enclosed so not a lot of air can flow through them. Shower houses are clean, nothing fancy. The owners were very accommodating to us and very helpful with the maps. Trails are pretty well marked and they have a nice map, athough I do recommend a phone GPS map to help out. Trails are varied and traverse mainly through woods with some nice ups and downs |

I live right outside of Golden Hills and I have always loved riding there due to the variety of trails that they have. Unfortunately, they are logging the crap out of the place, so trails are being destroyed daily. You will be riding along a nice trail and it ends at a pile of downed trees, ruts and brush. The trail will be wiped out at that point. If you go to ride there, stay on the Equine Community trails as they are not being logged. The campground is becoming very run down and stalls are in bad shape. One good thing is that they have several large pipe pens that will easily accommodate two or more horses each,that are by the front campsites(which are shaded by big trees). |

Not sure why they only show 20 miles of trails. There are miles and miles of trails. I live right outside of Golden Hills, so I ride there all the time. The trails range from easy to challenging. Trails can be overgrown and very rocky. They do have a new map, which helps a lot, but sometimes the markings can be missing. A Church group comes out yearly and remarks some trails and puts up signs to help you navigate. The campground has both shady and open spots with stalls for the horses. Many of the stalls are in bad shape, so you will want to drive around and look at the stalls to find where you want to camp. The campsite is huge, so you never have a problem finding a great spot with good stalls. The camp is usually empty, so you will have your place to yourself most of the time. Their bath house and restrooms are very dated. They do have a swimming pool, a bunkhouse, and many extras. The owners are old and the place is going downhill, but if you don't mind that, the trails are great. You do need to know that they do logging, so be sure to find out where the logging is going on because the trails in that area will be decimated. If you can ride with some of the people in the equine community, they can show you some great trails. Also, you do not HAVE to ride the road to hit the trails. Take Pasture Lane trail that goes out past the rental barn and takes a left through the gate. This is a great little trail that does not go through the pasture, but in the woods on the edge of the pasture. |

Beautiful trails that are very well marked. Easy to read map. Cozy campground with all amenities at each site. 2 horse pens at each site. The owners are very friendly. Definitely a place to go and enjoy! We will be going back there often. |

HoneyCreek Horse Camp is conveniently located to trails that range from easy to hard. These trails are close to many of the 'Must See' destinations, including the O&W Bridge. The owners of HoneyCreek are fabulous and very accommodating! The campsites are all shady with picnic tables and fire rings. Stalls or pens are available. The stalls are not large, but are safe with water spigots and hoses at every third stall. There are also highlines available, which we used to tie the horses out after a ride before putting them away at night in the stalls. There is a large round pen to work your horse before a ride, shavings, forks, shovels and wheelbarrows to clean the stalls. There is a cute little gift shop with the prettiest caps and shirts of any horsecamp that I have been to! Ice and ice cream are conveniently available. Shower houses are clean and stocked with necessities in case you forget yours. |
