I had heard so much about riding Brown County that my friends and I made a point of travelling here for a fall trail ride. The campground was average. The placement of our hitching rail was too close to our trailer (we were in camp site 68). It would be a much better site if the hitching rail was moved toward the back of the site. Water was very convenient and of course the manure pits were plentiful. The trails were average as they need more work to keep them sustainable. I have been involved with master trail planners and could recognize a big need for repair and/or relocation of some of the trails because of erosion problems. Possibly a second trail out to the longer B and C trails would help. We enjoyed our rides but the trails could be made safer and more durable if the park would invest a little time and money. |

Shawn, Donna, and Brittney were wonderful hosts. The campground is well maintained and the barns are clean and safe. I like that the horses were kept away from the camping area so bugs were kept at a minimum. The campground is located in a great spot for riding the Cumberland trails or the other (can't remember the names) trails. One mile from the Cumberland trail head with access to some incredible riding. The trails are mainly sandy or clay with a few rocky areas but my horse was barefoot and did just fine the 5 days we were there. I would definitely return to this area and campground. |

Bush Lake Flats Equestrian Trails, near Florence , WI

The campground is rustic and has no amenities for people. The Northern Saddle Club put in a pump for water for horses in the summer of 2015. The trails are sandy and your horse does not need shoes. The past year the riding club has also connected Bush Lake to Hall's Creek riding area which has tripled the amount of trails to ride. It is definately a place to go for easy to moderate riding. |
