You can no longer picket at the camp site. Horses need to be stabled at the Heavenly Horse Stables adjacent to the campground. It is very conveniently located to the campground and has easy access to your horses. We camped on a site right in front of the stables. You need to contact the stables separately to see if they have room available for you to stable at before you book your camp site. The owners of both the campground and the stables are very nice. The camp ground was very quiet the weekend we went (June), though there were many people camping. We love the Pinckney trails and ride there often, but it was nice to camp right there and ride into the trails several times during our camping stay. Trail access is right near the horse stables/ The trails are very well maintained accessible. Even with all of the rain we have had this spring, the trails were only muddy in a few spots. Definitely recommend this campground and the Pinckney horse trails. |

Beautiful trails and they are well maintained. Lots of hills, valleys, and a few bridges to cross. Some parts get muddy in the spring when there has been lots of rain ( like this year), but its not horrible. Spring time there is a ton of honeysuckle on the trails and it smells wonderful. Lots of shady areas to ride and well as some open field areas. Plenty of deer and wildlife around. You can access the Gregory trail from the Pinckney trails, where you will find bicyclists and joggers on that access trail. All must yield to horses but beware if your horse is not use to them. Most people will stop, but some just whiz on by. Good place to train if you need to get your horse use to them. There is a decent amount of parking in the staging area, we have a big rig and can get in and out fairly easily. Nice mounting platform area too. Definitely worth the trip!! |

This is a beautiful park with lots of miles to ride and much to see! The trails are easy and good for beginners. You can easily ride 4-6 hours and still not cover the entire park. My husband and I have ridden here every weekend this whole summer either on Saturday or Sunday mornings and have never had a parking issue with the trailer. It does get quite a few trailers on the weekends, but we have always found a spot to park. I know it can get fairly wet here in the spring, but I have not seen too much this summer. |
