David and I love camping and riding at Mammoth Cave and we highly recommend the Mammoth Cave Horse Camp! The barns are top notch, the sites are beautiful and well kept, with trees, mowed grassy areas, and gravel base. The trails are gorgeous. The mess hall is beautiful with a big stone fireplace. Kevin and Janet are great hosts. LOVE their events! The food is great; big breakfast and big supper every day with lunch fixins or a cookout midday. The entertainment is awesome; love the bands!! 5 star on all accounts! :-) |

Had a great time at the second annual week-long trail ride. Kevin was amazing and responded quickly to any needs or questions, before and during the ride. Food was awesome! Loved new Sand Cave trail and loved the option of trailering back on the longer rides. I highly recommend Mammoth Cave Horse Camp. |

Pennyrile State Park Horse Campground, near Dawson Springs, KY

Pennyrile park horse trails are lots of fun--beautiful rock formations around, creeks here and there to water horses and dogs while on the trail, lots of trees and shade everywhere. There is a trail head right out of camp or can use the day use area and head out on a trail. Trails can be ridden shod or unshod since the trails are not very rocky--just one gravel road that the trails criss cross now and then. Campsites were awesome--built in tie lines, wide pull throughs, gravel on sites, picnic tables, and a beautiful wash house. Spots are shady. Book ahead and they'll have your name card clipped to your site. The Park lodge has a restaurant that is a couple of minutes away by truck. It was open when we were there. |
