After having driven up from Florida and excited about the opportunity to ride and camp at a 5 star horse canp, we were very disappointed. There was no managment on the premises when we arrived and the condition of the stalls were awful. The flooding was an act of God, but the uncleaned filthy stalls was an act of the inconsiderate people who camped there and the complete disregard of the camp owners. We were told that bedding was provided and all that was available was wet sawdust. I am greatful to Ken for getting us a few bags of shavings to soak up the wet stalls so our horses didn't have to stand in muck. On a positive note the bath house was clean and the site was nice and all our hookups worked, fortunately we were the only campers there and were able to get the one and only picnic table they had. The folks who own this place try hard, but they just miss the mark. |

This is the former 7barL Horse Camp. New owner Christine has done an outstanding job with this place. There are now pull through sites with 30/50 amp electric, sewer and water. A remodeled bathhouse, dog kennels, 25x25 paddocks with shelters or large paddocks with run ins. The 2 trails along the Suwannee River are lovely with good footing and deep shade. The only reason I didn't give a 5star rating is that it's a bit of a hack down the road to get to the trails. |

This was our first time to McCulley's and we found the trails to be shady, well maintained and well marked. The camp sites, bath houses and barns were clean and in good condition. The McCulley family couldn't have been nicer or more accomadating. We will definately be back. |

This is a lovely place to camp and ride. The trails are through shady hardwood forest, well marked and are wide enough so that you don't smash your knees and with enough rolling hills to keep you interested. Also there is a nice spot with a picnic table and hitching post on the trail by the river to tie up and have lunch. The barns are some of the nicest I have seen anywhere. Campsites are wooded and have a pinic table and fire ring. Manuevering is a little tight getting in and out of the park with a large rig (ours is 40') but not impossible. The instructions for getting into the park are a little confusing. Just be sure to turn at the sign and go over the railroad tracks. Also call the park directly to find out about barn and stall location and your campsite before you call the reservation phone number. The reservation # is to someone in Maryland who has never been there. We told them the size of our trailers and asked for two sites together, they gave us buddy sites that we wouldn't have even been able to open our door if we had parked together there. Also they had 3 of our horses in one barn and 1 in another by himself. The park staff straightened it all out, but we could have saved ourselves and them alot of trouble if we had ignored what the website said and called them directly, which is what they told us we should have done. |
