Trail Description The ranch connects to the Jefferson National Forest providing miles of accessible trails. The trails range in difficulty from easy to difficult, with several being gravel Forest Service Roads and well-groomed paths through the forest. It is strongly recommended that you have a "Trails Illustrated" map produced by the National Geographic and available from the Mt. Rogers National Recreation Area or National Geographic (map 796)

Campground Authenic Log Cabin with barn and 15 stalls. Mountain Maverick Ranch offers a secluded log cabin that has 2 bedrms. and 1 1/2 baths that sleep up to 8. It's perfect for a horse riding getaway! The property adjoins the Jefferson National Forest with some of the best trails in the Eastern US. The kitchen is stocked w/plenty of cookware, dishwasher, toaster and blender. It also has a TV w/DVD and stereo. Rates are as follows: 180.00 min.per night up to 6 people,additional persons 30.00 per night. Week rates available. Barn fees are 15.00 per horse per night. Excellent, experienced trail guide available upon request for an additional fee

 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
