Trail Description Beautiful trails thru the South Warner Wilderness. The trails in this area are well signed and maintained by the BCH & USFS. Trails are, wooded, open, mountainous, a nice variety. Breath taking scenery.
Best Time to Visit May (depending on snow conditions) through October
Times to Avoid November through April
Campground This is a large horse camp, no problem getting large trailers in here! Two vault toilets, sites with fire rings, tables, some pens. Room for your portable pens here or line tie. Non potable water available for the horses. This is a no fee camp site, pets welcome. Come enjoy this area.

Directions From Alturas head east 13 miles on County Road 56 (paved) to the Modoc Nat. For. Boundary, here the road name changes to FS Rd. 31/Parker Cr. Rd.(gravel) Continue 6 miles(+-) campground entrance road will be on your right. Note The FS web site information on this camp has NOT been updated in years. Our visit was in Sept. 2016. Easy access to this camp.

 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
