Trail Description A variety of single track and old logging roads that meander through mixed pine and hardwoods. The rolling terrain offers plenty of opportunity to trot or canter your horses. There are a few places where you should walk them but even there it's not terribly technical. There are four loops ranging in length from 7.3 miles to 13.9 miles. The trails are shared with mountain bikers and hikers but the bikes and horses are kept separate by designating use of two trails each on alternating days.

Campground While there is no official horse camping, we were told by the Cheoah Ranger District (828-479-6431) that is was okay to camp in the "old" boat ramp area. This is basically a gravel parking lot so everything is primitive. There is a primitive camp nearby for hikers and mountain bikers but horses are not allowed in that area.
