Trail Description |
Full day of riding through the Pine Barrens of Long Island. Flat but deep sand in areas. Ponds. Free to ride with a NY State DEC Land Use permit. No camping. Closed for hunting season, check NYS DEC web site for dates. There are also State & County parks close by with similar riding. Unfortunately there is NO horse camping on Long Island even though there are plenty of trails to allow for it. You may be able to rent a stall at one of the local barns. info@gotreeless.com for help. |

Directions |
Long Island Expressway {I-495} to exit 68North. Go North about 3 miles to Whiskey Rd. Make a Left {west} onto Whiskey Rd. Drive down about 3 miles to a traffic light. You can park trailer along the field at this light. There is a wooden kiosk at the trail entry.
If coming from the Bridgeport/Port Jefferson Ferry take Rte 25A East to Rocky Point Rd South. Drive about 3 miles to traffic Light on Whiskey Rd. Make a right and park on field near kiosk & trail entry. |
