Trail Description: There are over 7000 acres of rideable trails in the beautiful Shawnee National Forest, through bluffs and unique rock formations, hard woods and pines, with gentle creeks to cross. Included in this trail system is the River to River. The trails are mostly single file dirt trails with rocky areas that wind through some of most beautiful scenery in the country. (Note: This description was copied from the Bay Creek Campground trail description....I couldnt do it better myself.)
There are at least 10 horse camps in the Shawnee National Forest. Several have postings on this website.
